for us personally

We really want this blog to mainly fuel you with updates to pray for Uyghur people directly.... but sometimes the ones serving them really need God's gracious help intervention too.  Thanks for praying for us as we've come up against a fair bit of discouragement lately.....

1) we're tired....  we've wanted to plan a short vacation (maybe 3 days in a country inn) since mid summer but we've never been able to come up with a plan that seemed like it would be nourishing/ encouraging rather than just more exhausting to care for our kids in an odd, less convenient place...  Perhaps just a piece of this time of life.  Wishing we had family around so we could stash them for a few days of lavish spoiling and the two of us get rest, time to focus and pray and be recharged in the Lord together.

2) we're heartbroken....  to have been faced with the news of role models of ours on the field who have fallen hard and not exactly come clean and responded with what would seem like full confession and repentance.  Deceiving one's self and others is scary.  We want to take heed, don't want to be surprised by sin within us.   We are grieved deeply.  And honestly, (I feel, probably more so than my husband) shaken.

3) we're also hopeful....  my husband has a goal of turning several friendships with Uyghur guys into Uyghur-language only relationships by Christmas.  That's remarkable to me!  I'm a bit farther behind but we are both encouraged that the Lord does seem to be giving us this language and we so long to clearly proclaim Christ in this tongue that has heard so little of him.

4)  we're grateful....  started reading the Word- a long passage or short book- to each other as part of our Sabbath together, for just the two of us.  So grateful for the blessing, challenge, grace, promise, fuel that the Word of God is for us.

Thank you friends for praying for us.
