Friends, let us not stop praying for Osh- for the fighting there between the Kyrgyz majority and the Uzbek minority.  It seems that thousands have died- been murdered in their homes and on the streets.  Neighborhoods have been ransacked.  Food is scarce.  Investigations are being done to controlling powers behind attacks that appear to be organized genocide.

All of these peoples need the Gospel.  The church is yet to flourish here.

Pray for protection for refugees returning.  For those serving on the ground.  Pray for wisdom and clarity for investigations.  Pray for relief aid to be distributed well.  Pray for orphans, for families everywhere broken with loss.  Pray for the whole community reeling from the pain of this traumatic catastrophe.  Pray for peace.  Let us weep and tear our garments and let us pray to our Father for peace....

Urgent Needs in Kyrgyzstan

Friends, there is lots to pray for for the country of Kyrgyzstan right now.  There is major unrest between two people groups- the Uzbeks (very close cultural cousins of the Uyghurs) and the Kyrgyz are both dearly needy for the Gospel.

Inside reports we've heard say that even though news agencies are reporting hundreds of death, "thousands" is a more accurate approximation.   Please pray.

There is a certain piece of the larger community of our hearts and efforts that is in this area and we ask you to boldly pray.... lifting them to the One who knows.  Pray for safety and supernatural protection and that the Lord would use their lives and service to boldly proclaim the Gospel and see much fruit be born for eternal life.

We encourage you to take some time (approx 30 min) to watch this impacting video and gain a deeper understanding of the situation many Muslims face as they might begin investigating Christ.   Ali's story is uniquely his.  In some ways we hope for things to happen for others just like they did for him, and in some ways we wouldn't (for example, we earnestly desire new believers to have much more of the written Word engaging in their lives.... ) Still, there is great value in learning about this man's story and we hope you might enjoy and be influenced by it for God's glory.

We recently received several requests from friends who are working with U.s in areas where they are the majority. Looking over this list, I think it includes requests from almost all of the workers I know of (from the west) that are seeking to reach the U people for Christ. Keep in mind, there are 10-12 million U.s . The harvest is vast, workers are few.

Here are those requests:

Thanks so much for wanting to lift us up. Our neighbor's wife died on Sunday so we are in the midst of funeral week, Nazirs, etc. We have already had some good spiritual conversations with neighbors and friends. Please pray for wisdom as we navigate all the cultural and religious customs here. We just long to share Jesus with these people.

A single woman who is a bit of a champion in our eyes, pours herself out every day for the U people- wrote:

- One of the girls I have been studing with has also made a JW friend, right now she is very confused about what is truth.

- This afternoon I am finishing up my lectures on the Book of Job, to believer. This is a real language challenge for me, Please ask for clear communication, and understanding on their part.

Another couple, new parents, wrote:

Thank you for thinking of us. We have been out and about now and have some idea of emotions among the peoples in this province. I feel like the hatred between groups are more evident now then before. Does not take much for tension to rise up. We want to see a real peace come into this area, not a fabricated one.

As for the requests, thanks a lot for wanting to think of us!

One thing that we are very excited about is that a strategic city in the south- a cultural headquarters for U people- became an economic development zone, and the possibilities of what that could mean.( more jobs, people not moving away , but moving towards the south, possibly more openness towards receiving fo-ers, raising the life-standard of the people, etc) We all feel like this is an answer to what we asked in the past to happen.

Another thing that I've seen lately is how active the JWs are. Their book came out and they are extremely active, courageous, gathering pple in the homes, renting bars and have about a hundred pple together. It made me so mad to hear these things!!!!! -because we are so cautious that we don't do almost anything. While, these liars and thiefs are leading pple astray.

From what I hear , they have been using our book , and that's what also made me angry. How can they have access to that???? Who is so naive that they just give books to those thiefs? In the capital city they have a sort of center. So, just ask that they will be kicked out, discovered, that pple will turn them in.

Please pray for my friend E. She started coming to the english corner again about 2 months ago and recently we've been getting together in her house. She is deeply thinking about stuff and it looks like strongholds are getting destroyed in her mind about Him. Another friend A. started joining it too, and we have been so excited about what is going on in E . We are also constatnly lifting her up.

A couple in leadership wrote:

* A woman in our fellowship is being divorced by her husband. They have a young baby. She is growing in her faith through this, but it's very hard. Pray for her husband, to have a change of heart. He's having an affair. Sadly, he was a professing Christian at one time -- or as we've seen, really just a very good friend of a foreigner. He now denies any faith at all. His sister is also a part of the fellowship. Pray for wisdom as we counsel the wife and the sister and hope to speak to this husband.

* We're going to visit family in the countryside next week. Pray that we would speak the Gospel clearly and that it would be planted well in the hearts of our loved ones to bear much fruit in them for Christ.
